We are looking for an experienced Trenching Operator who can lead offshore trenching activities and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Function description
In this role, the Trenching Operator will take ownership of all trenching activities and lead the team to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant offshore operations. Key responsibilities include :
- Supervising and instructing the trenching team during operations, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with QHSE rules, HS&E plans, and emergency procedures.
- Coordinating daily with the OIM, Project Engineer, Survey Party Chief, and Trencher Superintendent to align operations and maintenance.
- Preparing project‑specific procedures, task plans, and daily operational reports.
- Leading Toolbox Talks, conducting safe job analyses, and maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Operating the Trencher Control Cabin and equipment when required and overseeing daily equipment checks and checklists.
- Managing mobilization and demobilization activities, ensuring all tools, consumables, rigging, and lifting equipment are certified and available.
- Reporting equipment malfunctions, operational changes, and safety concerns promptly to the OIM.
