Freelance BI developer

Freelance BI Developer (6+ months, Brussels - hybrid)

A leading financial services company based in Brussels is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to strengthen their BI team. This is a long-term freelance assignment with an initial duration of 6 months, renewable.

You will work on critical reporting and analytics projects that support business decision-making, collaborating closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders from different departments.

Your responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI

Build and maintain ETL pipelines in Python and AWS Glue

Integrate data from multiple sources into AWS Redshift and other data platforms

Optimize and troubleshoot existing BI solutions, ensuring high data quality and performance

Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Contribute to the development of data models and SSAS cubes where needed

Support report distribution using SSRS

Document solutions clearly and follow best practices in BI development

Your profile

Proven experience as a BI Developer, ideally in a financial or insurance context

Excellent knowledge of Power BI and SQL

Strong skills in Python for data manipulation and ETL

Solid understanding of AWS technologies, especially Glue and Redshift

Knowledge of SSRS and SSAS is a strong plus

Ability to analyze complex data and transform it into user-friendly reports

Team player with good communication skills

Fluent in English (required); knowledge of French is a plus. Dutch is not needed

Available to start ASAP

Practical details

On-site presence : 2 days per week in Brussels (city center, easily accessible by public transport)

Remote : 3 days per week from home (full remote may be considered after a successful onboarding period)
