Ensure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.
Job Overview
We are hiring a Scrum Master for a major telecom client in Belgium to support the delivery of a large-scale Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) rollout across Flanders.
You will join a dedicated program team consisting of GIS Engineers, FTTH Engineers, and a Program Manager, supporting the end-to-end delivery of the program from initial scoping through engineering and construction.
In this role, your primary focus is team coaching and process facilitation. You will help multidisciplinary teams establish a structured, predictable way of working by facilitating Agile ceremonies, identifying impediments early, and ensuring transparency across the program. This is not a technical or Jira administration role—your responsibility is to improve collaboration, delivery rhythm, and team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily stand-up meetings for each team, ensuring discussions remain focused on progress, priorities, and impediments.
- Prepare and facilitate operational review meetings together with the Program Manager, providing clear visibility on progress across scoping, engineering, and construction activities.
- Support the Program Manager in preparing concise and accurate updates for Steering Committee meetings, highlighting progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Proactively identify, track, and help remove impediments, escalating issues when they exceed the team's scope.
- Coach teams in adopting a structured and consistent way of working, ensuring clear definitions of completion for each delivery stage.
- Ensure teams maintain accurate and up-to-date information in Jira so project status remains transparent and reliable.
- Identify recurring process inefficiencies, capacity constraints, or delivery risks and provide practical improvement recommendations.
- Onboard new team members by introducing them to the program's Agile ceremonies, processes, and ways of working.
- Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile process facilitation role.
- Experience working in operational or project delivery environments such as telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, construction, or engineering.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to keep meetings efficient, focused, and outcome-driven.
- Ability to explain Agile concepts in a practical, easy-to-understand manner to teams with varying levels of Agile maturity.
- Good working knowledge of Jira as an end user (boards, sprints, tickets); Jira administration experience is not required.
- Proactive mindset with the confidence to identify issues early and challenge ineffective ways of working constructively.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary technical teams (Engineering, GIS, FTTH, or similar) is considered an advantage.
- Fluent in Dutch with a good command of English for technical and program documentation.
