Are you passionate about new innovations and eager to develop the future sustainable compressor products from concept to production?
We develop the next generation “heart” – the core component – for the Oil Injected Screw (OIS) compressors. These compressors power an enormous variety of applications and processes, including general manufacturing, automotive, and oil and gas.

The engineering department is looking for a motivated, multifunctional engineer with a pro-active attitude who is good at motivating the project team to reach the project targets. You will join as a project leader and work on projects improving efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness of our OIS portfolio.

You lead and steer the project team throughout the whole product development process. You guide the product from concept to industrialization: from the specifications of the project to a conceptual design, prototype testing, production process development, to test batches and finally follow-up after the start of serial production.

Apart from project management, you are responsible for the technical scope. You safeguard the technical coherence during the design phase, supported by your team members and our in-house developed tools. You nurture cross-departmental feedback and aim to optimize the cost and value of product design for all our stakeholders (from supplier, to production, to our internal and external customers).

Product development, testing, and manufacturing are mainly done at the headquarters of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique in Wilrijk. This means you will have hands-on experience with the products and will also work outside of a traditional desk environment.

• You have a master in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as project leader/manager in a technical environment
• 2+ years of experience in a product development context
• You have a technical background, preferably in mechanical engineering, supported by strong analytical skills.
• You communicate fluently in English.
• You are a team player who can work together with and motivate a project team.
• You are result driven, commit to targets and goals, and make decisions based on accurate sources of information.
• You challenge the status quo, think out-of-the-box, and seek opportunities for improvements.
• You express yourself clearly, concisely, and effectively. You communicate straightforwardly without fear of raising ‘red flags’.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco airpower site in Wilrijk, Belgium.
