Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team in Brussels. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, defining, and governing the enterprise architecture landscape, ensuring full alignment between business strategy, operating models, and technology capabilities. You will act as a strategic advisor to senior business and IT stakeholders, translating business objectives into end-to-end architecture roadmaps that span business capabilities, applications, data, integration, and technology platforms.
You will collaborate closely with business leaders, domain architects, delivery teams, and external partners to ensure consistent architecture governance and alignment across all initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and target-state architecture.
- Develop and evolve multi-year architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
- Translate strategic business objectives into actionable architecture initiatives.
- Drive simplification and rationalization of application, data, and technology landscapes.Business & IT Alignment
- Partner with senior business and IT stakeholders to align architecture with business capabilities.
- Lead business capability mapping and identify transformation opportunities.
- Ensure technology decisions support long-term business outcomes and operating model evolution.
Architecture Governance
Establish and enforce architecture governance frameworks, standards, and decision
processes. Lead architecture review boards and provide guidance on strategic initiatives.
Ensure compliance with enterprise principles, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Promote reuse of patterns, platforms, and capabilities across the enterprise.
Transformation & Modernization
Lead architecture input for large-scale transformation programs (cloud, digital, integration,
data). Define current-state, target-state, and transition architectures.identify technical debt and drive modernization strategies. Support cloud adoption and hybrid architecture evolution.
Stakeholder Leadership
Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership (CIO, CTO, business directors).
Facilitate cross-functional alignment between business, IT, and vendors.
Influence architectural decisions across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Support decision-making through structured analysis and recommendations.
Architecture Domains
Ensure consistency across business, application, data, integration, and technology
architecture domains.
Collaborate with solution, data, security, and infrastructure architects.
Define and maintain enterprise architecture viewpoints and models.
Business Cases & Value Realisation
Support development of business cases and investment proposals.
Assess architectural impacts, risks, costs, and benefits of initiatives.
Contribute to value tracking and benefit realization of transformation programs.
Required Skills & Experience
• Extensive experience as an Enterprise Architect in complex, enterprise-scale
environments.
• Proven ability to define enterprise architecture strategies and transformation roadmaps.
• Strong experience with TOGAF, ArchiMate, or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience establishing and operating architecture governance models.
• Strong understanding of business capability modelling and operating models.
• Demonstrated success in simplifying complex IT landscapes.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in large organizations.
• Strong communication and influencing skills at executive level.
• Experience in hybrid environments (on-premise and cloud).
• Fluent in English & Dutch
Technical Understanding

Preferred
• TOGAF certification.

• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (ISO27001, GDPR, NIS2).
