Summary

Our Hopper dredgers (TSHD) and Cutter dredgers (CSD) work around the world on the most challenging dredging projects. Being a sailor with DEME is not sailing from A to B. We need 1st Mates with experience in Dredging to keep our fleet active 24/7 around the world.

• You will work on board a TSHD under the Master's supervision

• You determine how the dredging work should be performed, in consultation with the Master

• You are responsible during your watch for directing the dredging work and optimizing the production

• You ascertain whether any maintenance is required with respect to the dredging installation and the auxiliary installation with the First Engineer

• You communicate with the project managers, site superintendents, surveyors and local authorities. It is part of the daily job

• You give clear and balanced feedback to your co-workers, aiming at the development of others

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nautical sciences or you followed an 'MBO-4' or ‘HBO’ education in a maritime academy or nautical institute

• You have worked in the position of 1st Mate or Master in the dredging business for several years

• You hold a COC of II/2

• You speak and write fluent English

• You have a strong awareness of Health, Safety and Environment

• You have a hands-on and no nonsense mentality

Project Engineer Infra

As a Project Engineer you will be involved in marine infrastructure/civil projects (i.e. port & harbor constructions, immersed tunnels, tunneling and foundation works) that complement and reinforce DEME’s activities. The Project Manager Fleet Interventions is responsible for the end-to-end execution of the scope of work for a vessel intervention period (maintenance, repair, mobilisation, conversion, installation of mission equipment, ..) and redelivery. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to stringent quality and safety standards, while also obtaining high vessel performance and reliability post-redelivery.

Technical Equipment Supervisor

The Technical Equipment Supervisor (TES), is the main responsible person for the technical state of the Cable Burial Tool (CBT), whether on the vessel during operations or on shore during maintenance and modifications. The TES is also the main responsible person on the vessel to execute burial in accordance with the agreed burial methodology and has a key role in the optimization of the burial process, improvement program for the trencher and the training of the operational crew.

Geologist

As a geologist, you will work as a part of the EDT team (Engineering, Design & Technology) in our HQ in Zwijndrecht, near Antwerp (Belgium). Close follow-up, coaching and guidance will be provided of course by Senior colleagues in our geologist team. Next to Geology, the EDT team in activity line Dredging provides support as well in Geotechnics, Coastal Engineering, Environmental engineering, Production and Wear &Tear expertise. This makes the EDT team highly divers in expertise and as such complementary to cover many expert aspects in supporting our projects.
