Senior Sales Engineer Food Belgium

As Senior Sales Engineer Food you are responsible to strengthen the market position, to regain market share and to build sustainable customer relationships in the entire Belgian Market.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build Relationships: Develop and maintain deep, trusted partnerships with existing customers and actively developing new business to increase market share at various levels, from operator to general management.
• Provide Consultative Selling: Analyze client production needs to recommend tailored, high-efficiency application food solutions, such as ovens, frying units and systems for coating, grinding and horizontal packaging (thermoforming).
• Negotiate contracts: Lead Commercial and technical negotiations for complex, long-term capital equipment contracts.
• Analyze markets: Monitor food industry trends, competitor activities and emerging regional market opportunities.
• Collaborate internally: work with engineering, product managers and service teams to design technical project proposals. Working closely with them for the best trusted partnerships with existing and new customers for the best advice and service.
• Represent the brand: Showcase products and network at major international food technology trade shows and follow up the leads afterwards.

The profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Food Technology, Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 5–8 years' experience in front-line B2B sales of industrial equipment or solutions within the food processing industry
• Strong knowledge of food processing technologies, preferably within meat, fish, dairy, cheese, vegetable, or potato processing
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in high-value machinery and Capex projects
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
• Strong relationship-building abilities with experience engaging multiple stakeholders in complex customer organizations
• A consultative, solution-oriented sales approach, acting as a trusted partner rather than a transactional salesperson
• Self-driven, disciplined, and comfortable working independently with frequent travel across Belgium.
• Commercially minded with a proactive and results-oriented attitude.
• Fluent in Dutch and French, with a good command of English
• Pragmatic, hands-on professional with a no-nonsense mentality and a strong drive to succeed.
