The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by converting installers and contractors to the company's brand, maintaining a strong field presence, and building long-term customer relationships. The role requires spending the majority of working time in the market, visiting customers, supporting promotional activities, and representing the brand professionally to increase market share and customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition & Conversion
- Identify and convert installers, contractors, and trade professionals to the company's products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Demonstrate product benefits and provide technical and commercial support to customers.
- Follow up on leads and convert opportunities into sales.
Field Sales
- Spend the majority of working hours visiting customers in assigned territories.
- Execute a structured route plan to maximize customer coverage.
- Monitor customer needs, competitor activities, and market trends.
- Ensure product availability and visibility at customer locations where applicable.
Brand Representation
- Represent the company and its brands professionally in the marketplace.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, customer open days, demonstrations, and promotional events.
- Deliver product presentations and training sessions for installers and distributors.
- Promote new product launches and marketing campaigns.
Sales Administration
- Maintain accurate customer records and visit reports in the CRM system.
- Provide regular market intelligence and competitor feedback.
- Assist with sales forecasting and territory planning.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
Experience
- Motivated entry-level candidates with a "can-do" attitude are also welcome.
- 2+ years of field sales experience, preferably in construction materials, building products, tools, or related industries. Experience working with installers, contractors, distributors, or trade customers is seen as a big advantage.
Skills
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Persuasive sales and negotiation abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
