Technical Lead – Salesforce

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Technical Lead to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within a complex, regulated organisation.

In this role, you will combine strong Salesforce development expertise with solution architecture and technical leadership. You will be responsible for designing scalable, secure and maintainable Salesforce solutions while providing technical direction and guidance to development teams.

The role offers the opportunity to work with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud and Service Cloud, alongside integrations, data architecture and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Architecture & Solution Design

• Define and govern Salesforce architecture principles, development standards and technical guidelines.
  
• Design and oversee end-to-end Salesforce solutions across multiple platforms and business processes.
  
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  
• Provide technical guidance to business stakeholders, product owners and project teams.
  
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for platform optimisation.
  
• Contribute to the long-term Salesforce technology roadmap.
  

Development & Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership throughout analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
  
• Act as a hands-on technical expert for complex Salesforce developments and technical challenges.
  
• Work with Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Triggers, asynchronous processing, Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Salesforce Flows.
  
• Conduct technical and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to development standards.
  
• Establish and maintain Salesforce development best practices.
  
• Coach and mentor Salesforce developers and contribute to the overall technical maturity of the team.
  

Integration & Data

• Design and assess integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware and standard integration patterns.
  
• Work with MuleSoft or comparable integration technologies where appropriate.
  
• Contribute to data architecture, data modelling and data quality.
  
• Support data migration and data transformation activities.
  
• Ensure integrations and data flows are scalable, secure and maintainable.
  

Security, Governance & DevOps

• Ensure Salesforce solutions comply with security, access management, governance and compliance requirements.
  
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies and release management.
  
• Work with Git and modern DevOps practices.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability and scalability.
  
• Stay up to date with Salesforce platform developments and assess their relevance to the organisation.
  

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant Salesforce experience, ideally as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Senior Developer or Lead Developer.
  
• Proven experience providing technical direction and architectural guidance.
  
• Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience, including:
  • Apex
    
  • SOQL/SOSL
    
  • Triggers
    
  • Asynchronous processing
    
  • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    
  • Salesforce Flows
    
• Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture and development best practices.
  
• Experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions / Public Sector Cloud, Experience Cloud and/or Service Cloud is highly advantageous.
  
• Strong understanding of API design, integration patterns and middleware.
  
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, release management and DevOps practices.
  
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and systems.
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Proven ability to coach developers and maintain high standards of technical delivery.
  
• Relevant degree in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  
• Fluent Dutch is required. French and/or English would be an advantage.
