Tasks and responsibilities

• 3D Modelling: Create highquality detailed 3D models of characters vehicles props weapons and environments in Blender for use in XR training simulators.
• Texturing & Materials: Develop realistic textures and materials using PBR workflows to enhance the visual fidelity and immersion of XR simulations.
• Optimization: Optimize models topology and texture sizes (LODs poly counts UV layouts) to ensure smooth performance across different XR platforms.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the end users as well as programmers designers and fellow artists to create assets that authentically simulate the situations and challenges they face.
• Asset Integration: Prepare export and integrate Blender assets into Unity ensuring correct scale pivot points materials and naming conventions.
• Environment Art: Build immersive environments buildings and props that accurately reflect realworld locations and scenarios encountered by special forces and the your.
• Prototyping: Rapidly prototype and iterate on 3D assets and environments to refine the training experience.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and uptodate documentation of asset pipelines naming conventions and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and with our partners.
• Adaptation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging tools and techniques in 3D art and XR and apply them to improve asset quality and pipeline efficiency.

Profile

• Knowledge and experience (required)
• Bachelors degree in 3D Art Game Design Animation or a related field OR Multiple years of proven experience in the industry: Candidates without a bachelors degree must have several years of demonstrated experience in the industry. A comprehensive portfolio showcasing your work is required.

Pros

• Previous experience with services Defence or other security services.
• Experience with 3D scanning and digital reconstruction (LIDAR photogrammetry).
• Experience in operational training environments.

Competencies

• Strong proficiency in Blender including modelling sculpting UV unwrapping texturing and material creation.
• Demonstrated experience creating 3D assets and/or environments for games and/or XR simulators for training and simulation showcased through a portfolio.
• A solid understanding of PBR texturing workflows and tools such as Substance Painter or Substance Designer.
• Experience optimizing assets (poly count topology LODs texture resolution) for realtime rendering on XR platforms (VR AR MR).
• Experience exporting and integrating assets into a game engine preferably Unity.
• Excellent eye for detail proportion and realism with a passion for creating authentic XR training experiences for special forces
• Proficiency in Dutch French and/or English.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with special forces and your partners and in cross functional teams.
• Having worked with 3D scans and the optimization of it is a plus
