Chief Accountant

Location: Sint-Niklaas

Your Role & Responsibilities

As Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our operations in Belgium. Your responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing the documentation and financial control of accounting records (approval workflows, accuracy, reliability, etc.)
- Ensuring timely and accurate data entry into our ERP system (Business Central/ Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision)
- Recording and reconciling business transactions
- Monitoring and applying relevant tax laws and accounting standards (local and IFRS)
- Calculating taxes, charges, and overseeing financial operations
- Managing cash transactions and payroll processes
- Preparing comprehensive financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with local standards, IFRS, and Krka Group policies
- Supporting the preparation of consolidation packages and internal reporting
- Leading or participating in annual inventory processes
- Ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies
- Providing guidance and instructions for monitoring business events and financial procedures

What We Expect

- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an international environment
- Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, IFRS, payroll, fixed assets, and material management
- Experience with timely and accurate financial reporting
- In-depth understanding of Belgian tax and financial legislation
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Business Central/Navision xlxgzvr is a plus)
- Fluency in Dutch and English (a working knowledge of French at an intermediate level is desirable)
