About the Role

Chery Auto is looking for an experienced and hands-on Logistics Quality Manager to take ownership of finished-vehicle logistics quality across Europe.

In this role, you will oversee the quality of vehicles throughout the logistics journey — from vessel discharge at European ports through vehicle processing and onward delivery. You will work closely with port operators, logistics service providers, transport carriers, PDI providers and internal teams to identify, prevent and resolve vehicle damage and other logistics-related quality issues.

You will play a key role in establishing consistent logistics quality standards across European markets, strengthening quality control processes and driving continuous improvement across the logistics network.

This is a highly operational role, combining on-site quality management, data analysis, supplier management and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Quality & Damage Management

• Lead quality inspections of finished vehicles following vessel discharge at European ports.
• Ensure vehicle damage and quality issues are identified, accurately assessed, documented and supported by photographic evidence.
• Establish and apply consistent vehicle damage classification and assessment standards.
• Investigate transportation, handling and loading/unloading-related damage and drive corrective actions.
• Lead investigations into major or recurring damage issues and ensure effective closure.

Quality Standards & Process Development

• Develop and continuously improve the European finished-vehicle logistics quality management framework.
• Establish consistent quality standards, procedures and work instructions across ports and Vehicle Processing Centres (VPCs).
• Develop and implement common PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) standards and operating procedures.
• Maintain quality records, escalation mechanisms and closed-loop improvement processes.
• Ensure alignment with relevant AIAG and ECG standards and global vehicle damage coding practices.

Supplier & Logistics Partner Management

• Monitor and evaluate the quality performance of port operators, transport carriers, PDI providers and other logistics partners.
• Conduct regular on-site quality audits and process reviews.
• Identify operational risks and work with partners to implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive logistics partners towards consistent quality standards and improved service performance.

Claims & Quality Performance

• Lead vehicle damage claims, including root-cause analysis, responsibility assessment and claim coordination.
• Work closely with logistics partners, insurers and repair providers to resolve damage cases efficiently.
• Establish and maintain vehicle damage data and KPI reporting.
• Analyse quality trends and identify opportunities to reduce logistics-related damage rates.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Build, develop and manage the logistics quality team and local inspection resources.
• Provide quality training and guidance to local teams and logistics partners.
• Ensure consistent communication and implementation of company quality requirements across European markets.
• Work closely with Logistics, After-sales, Quality and other relevant functions across Chery's European organisation.

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in finished-vehicle logistics quality management within the automotive industry.
• Experience with European vehicle logistics, ports or Vehicle Processing Centres (VPCs) is highly preferred.
• Experience working for an automotive OEM or major finished-vehicle logistics provider is a strong advantage.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of finished-vehicle logistics processes and quality management.
• Experience in vehicle damage assessment, claims management and root-cause analysis.
• Good knowledge of PDI processes and standards.
• Familiarity with AIAG, ECG and global vehicle damage coding standards.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 is an advantage.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to turn quality data into actionable insights.

Languages

• Fluent English, both written and spoken, as the primary working language.
• Dutch, French, German or Chinese is a strong advantage.

Other Requirements

• Valid EU Category B driving licence.
• Legally authorised to work in the European Union.

Location & Working Environment

The role will be based at major European ports and Vehicle Processing Centres, depending on operational requirements. Potential locations include Zeebrugge and Antwerp in Belgium, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and other European locations.

The role is field-oriented, with a significant amount of time spent on-site at ports and VPCs, combined with office-based work.
