Product owner - Guidewire Cloud implementation (PolicyCenter / claimcenter) Terms Freelance / Long-term Hybrid - Europe Occasional on-site travel Start: Before the end of 2026 English-speaking For a major insurance transformation programme, we are looking for an experienced freelance Product Owner with Insurance Package Implementation experience to join a greenfield Guidewire Cloud implementation within Commercial Insurance. The client is looking to onboard Product Owners across both the PolicyCenter and Claimcenter implementation teams. The Product Owner will take ownership of their respective product domain, working closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, configuration developers, and other members of a distributed Agile delivery team. Responsibilities Own and manage the Product Backlog for PolicyCenter or Claimcenter Define and communicate product vision, priorities, and roadmap Translate business objectives into epics, features, and user stories Prioritise requirements based on business value, risk, and dependencies Act as the key decision-maker for product-related questions and priorities Work closely with stakeholders to define target business processes and desired outcomes Collaborate with Guidewire configuration teams to ensure solutions align with business requirements Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Reviews, Refinements, and PI Planning Support testing, user acceptance activities, and release planning Ensure successful delivery of business value throughout the implementation lifecycle Requirements Experience as a Product Owner within insurance transformation programmes Previous experience with Guidewire or another core insurance platform implementation Strong understanding of Policy Administration and/or Claims processes Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and technology teams Excellent communication and prioritisation skills Project context Greenfield Guidewire Cloud implementation Focus on Commercial Insurance PolicyCenter and Product Definition at the core of the role Scrum team of approximately 10 people, including 3-4 Business Analysts and configuration developers International/distributed project environment First release currently moving into User Acceptance Testing Next release starts with an inception phase covering requirements, solution design and user-story backlog creation Earlier onboarding preferred to build project and policy knowledge ahead of the next major delivery phase
