Context

A leading bank is looking for a Freelance Data Scientist to help transform complex data into actionable insights, predictive models and AI-driven solutions. You'll work closely with business, IT and data teams to develop scalable machine learning solutions that support automation, innovation and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into data science use cases and analytical solutions


• Design, develop and maintain predictive, descriptive and prescriptive models


• Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to uncover insights from complex data


• Build and operationalise decision algorithms and automation solutions


• Manage the full model lifecycle, from development to monitoring and optimisation


• Ensure data and model quality through validation, monitoring and governance


• Communicate insights to business stakeholders and promote a data-driven culture


• Collaborate with business, IT and data teams to deliver high-impact solutions

Requirements

• Experience with Data Science, Machine Learning and statistical modelling


• Strong Python and/or R experience


• Experience translating business problems into analytical solutions


• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills


• Interest in AI, automation and data-driven process optimisation


• Knowledge of data quality, governance and risk management


• Dutch and English are mandatory

Nice to Have

• Experience with LangChain and AI workflow orchestration


• Knowledge of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)


• Experience within banking, financial services or other complex data environments
