JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the development of our activities in the offshore energy sector, we are looking for a Quality Control Lead – Offshore Prefabrication (M/F) to work on a major project involving the fabrication of an offshore platform substructure.

You will be responsible for the quality control of steel structure prefabrication and coating activities, carried out across several fabrication sites in Europe.

Quality Control & Supervision

• Supervise and control prefabrication activities for steel structures and coating works

• Monitor the quality of structural components, including jackets, piles, pile sleeves, cable decks, boat landings, grillages, walkways, trunnions, etc.

• Ensure that fabrication activities comply with project requirements, ITPs and surveillance plans

• Supervise welding, NDT, coating and associated activities

• Verify the conformity of materials, fabrication activities and quality documentation

• Participate in inspections, control points and final inspections

Coordination & Interface Management

• Act as the quality focal point for the various project stakeholders

• Coordinate inspections with fabrication teams and project stakeholders

• Interface with the assembly yard teams to ensure the compliance and timely availability of sub-assemblies

• Participate in quality coordination meetings and follow up on actions

• Facilitate the resolution of quality deviations and escalate issues requiring management decisions

Quality Documentation & Monitoring

• Organize and monitor the review of procedures, ITPs, fabrication records, quality records and traceability documentation

• Follow up on NCRs, punch lists and quality comments through to closure

• Review and endorse quality records within your scope of responsibility

• Prepare daily and weekly reports covering activities, inspections and quality issues

• Monitor KPIs related to documentation review and quality progress

Production Monitoring & HSE

• Provide high-level monitoring of prefabrication activities and production progress

• Contribute to visibility on the schedule and its changes

• Promote a strong HSE culture across the various production sites

• Participate in HSE actions and project initiatives

You will be based in Belgium, and the position involves regular travel to several fabrication sites across Europe, including Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and France.

YOUR PROFILE

You have an engineering degree and significant experience in production and quality control, ideally within steel structure fabrication and/or an offshore environment.

You have strong knowledge and experience in:

• Quality control and fabrication inspection

• Welding and welding inspection

• NDT / Non-Destructive Testing

• Painting and coating

• Steel structures / steel fabrication

• ITPs and inspection/surveillance plans

• Non-conformity and punch list management

• Quality documentation and records

• Fabrication traceability

Experience in the fabrication of offshore steel structures is highly valued.
