I’m working with an exciting genomics start-up based in Belgium that is developing innovative sequencing technology and instrumentation for the research and life sciences market.

As the company continues to grow, they are looking to hire an Inside Sales Specialist to join the commercial team and work closely with the Sales Director to develop new opportunities, engage prospective customers, and support the growth of the business across Europe and beyond.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a research or commercial background in genomics who wants to move into a more commercially focused role within an innovative start-up environment.
About the Role
Working closely with the Sales Director, you will play an important role in identifying and developing new opportunities across the genomics and sequencing market.
You’ll be involved in:
- Identifying and qualifying new prospects within pharma, biotech, academia, and research institutions
- Conducting outbound prospecting and engaging potential customers
- Managing inbound leads and developing them through the sales funnel
- Building relationships with researchers, scientists, laboratory leaders, and other key stakeholders
- Supporting product demonstrations, presentations, and customer discussions
- Working closely with the Sales Director to progress opportunities and close new business
- Maintaining accurate pipeline activity and CRM records
- Supporting account development and broader commercial initiatives as the company scales
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of genomics and sequencing technologies, who is also commercially curious and motivated by working in a start-up environment.
Your background could include:
- Research experience in genomics, NGS, sequencing, molecular biology, or related fields
- Previous sales, business development, or inside sales experience within genomics or life sciences
- Experience with NGS, long-read sequencing, or related sequencing technologies
- A degree or advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with scientific customers
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with a desire to help build something from an early stage
You don’t necessarily need to have extensive sales experience, strong genomics knowledge combined with commercial drive and the desire to develop a career in sales could be equally interesting.
