High-Tech Manufacturing & Lean Operations (Leuven)

Are you an experienced operational leader ready to drive precision manufacturing? Xeryon is seeking a hands-on Production Manager in Leuven to lead its Machining Cell as well as its Assembly Lines. You will turn supply chain plans into high-quality output, enforce EHS standards, and lead Lean continuous improvement.

What will you do?

As Production Manager, you are the operational engine on our shop floor, bridging strategic production targets with daily manufacturing execution. You report directly to the COO and take full operational ownership of both the Machining Cell and the line-based team of Assembly Operators. Your primary mission is to ensure flawless plan execution, maintain high equipment availability through preventive maintenance, and drive systematic problem-solving. You foster an agile, safety-first culture where quality and continuous improvement (Kaizen) are paramount.

In this role, your core responsibilities include:

- Plan Execution & Schedule Adherence: Serve as the direct counterpart to the Supply Chain Manager to deliver master schedules and daily targets accurately and on time.
- EHS & Safety Leadership: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS) standards, conduct risk assessments, and drive an uncompromising safety-first culture.
- Dual-Unit Leadership: Direct and balance line assembly operations while guiding and empowering the Machining Cell to maximize its autonomy and efficiency.
- Maintenance Execution: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs (TPM) for tools and CNC machining equipment to minimize downtime. This includes a reactive shop-floor presence
- Lean & Root-Cause Problem Solving: Apply Lean principles (5S, Kanban, VSM) and resolve operational deviations using structured methods (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, A3).
- Team Development & Continuous Improvement: Foster an agile, quality-driven culture across all teams, emphasizing cross-training, multi-skilling, and clear operational KPIs.

Who are we looking for?

To thrive in this fast-paced environment, you need high adaptability to pivot quickly during operational disruptions, an uncompromising safety mindset to protect team well-being, and collaborative leadership skills to manage both autonomous groups and structured assembly line teams.

You meet the following essential criteria:

- 5+ years of operational leadership experience in precision manufacturing (machining, precision assembly, or high-tech equipment).
- Proven track record in executing and delivering production schedules set by supply chain teams.
- Practical mastery of Lean tools (5S, Kanban, VSM) and formal root-cause problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
- Solid experience in tracking machine maintenance programs (Preventive/Corrective Maintenance, TPM).
- Technical understanding of high-precision mechanics, CNC machining concepts, and manual/semi-automated assembly lines.
