Transport Officer

Job Description

The role:

The Transport Officer supports the European Transport team by coordinating transport projects and daily transport tasks. The role is mainly project-focused, but must be able to support the full transport scope when needed, except direct people or team management.

This is a key coordination role between departments and external partners. The role requires a 360° view of transport needs, store activity, warehouse constraints, partner capacity, data, costs and material flows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport tasks linked to store openings, store closures, refits and other projects.
• Work with Stationary, Unitary, Project Management, Construction, Warehouses, Forwarders, 3PL and Retail teams to keep actions clear and moving.
• Support intercompany transport, store deliveries, spot transport, loading routes, delivery schedules and transit time updates.
• Follow up daily transport topics, operational issues, end-of-day actions and communication with internal and external contacts.
• Prepare simple trackers, reports and follow-up files for projects, routes, deliveries, costs, issues and actions.
• Support UK-BE customs reporting and other transport reports when required.
• Help create and roll out tools that make transport costs, data, material movements and priorities easier to manage.
• Analyse transport information to identify risks, issues and improvement opportunities.
• Travel to stores, warehouses or partner sites when needed to support openings, closures, refits or operational follow-up.
• Act as backup for other Transport Officers when required.

Qualifications

• Fluent English, minimum B2 level.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Strong organisation, follow-up and communication skills.
• Able to manage several topics at the same time and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Comfortable working with data, reports, trackers and basic analysis.
• Able to work both in the office and in the field.
• Practical, reliable and able to escalate issues clearly.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Experience in transport, logistics, retail, warehouse work or project coordination.
• Experience working with carriers, forwarders, 3PL partners or stores.
• Experience creating Excel trackers, dashboards or simple working tools.

• Projects and transport actions are followed up on time.
• Stakeholders receive clear and useful information.
• Transport files, tools and reports are accurate and easy to use.
• Issues are spotted early, escalated clearly and followed through.
• The role supports both day-to-day transport and wider project needs.
