Job Description

NextLink is having an existing position as a AML AI Specialist in Brussels area, Belgium.

The ABW team is operational Anti-Money Laundering function, responsible for performing customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction-related investigations and other regulatory analyses required to manage financial crime risks. The team operates in a highly regulated environment where quality, consistency, traceability and timely processing are essential. Alongside its day-to-day activities, ABW is continuously seeking practical improvements that reduce manual effort, increase operational efficiency and support analysts in handling a growing volume and complexity of cases.

As part of this ambition, the team is exploring the use of AI-assisted tools and agents to support activities such as information gathering, case preparation, document analysis and quality checks while maintaining full human oversight and regulatory compliance

ABW is looking for a hands-on AML professional with practical AI experience to help identify and implement a limited number of high-impact efficiency improvements within AML operations.

The objective is not to launch a large transformation programme, but to rapidly test, build and deploy practical solutions that reduce manual effort for analysts while maintaining quality, consistency and traceability.

The assignment focuses on delivering concrete results within three months and demonstrating the

potential value of AI-supported working methods in AML operations.

Work directly with AML analysts and team leads to identify repetitive, manual or time-consuming activities ²and develop practical AI solutions that simplify daily work.

Typical examples include:

• Case summarisation

• Due diligence preparation

• KYC file reviews

• Document analysis

• Information extraction

• Investigation support

• Quality and completeness checks

• Knowledge retrieval from procedures and guidelines

The emphasis is on quick implementation and measurable efficiency gains.

Key Responsibilities

Identify Quick Wins

• Spend time with analysts to understand where effort is spent.

• Identify repetitive activities suitable for AI support.

• Prioritise opportunities based on impact and ease of implementation.

• Maintain a practical backlog of improvement ideas.

Build Practical AI Solutions

• Configure and build AI agents, copilots or prompt-based assistants.

• Develop simple prototypes and pilot solutions.

• Test solutions with end users.

• Iterate quickly based on feedback.

Support AML Operations

• Apply knowledge of:

o KYC

o KYT

o Customer Due Diligence

o Enhanced Due Diligence

o PEP and sanctions screening

o Source of Funds and Source of Wealth investigations

o Transaction monitoring

• Ensure solutions support existing AML controls and ways of working.

Measure Value

• Track time savings and operational benefits.

• Document lessons learned.

• Present recommendations for future opportunities.

Profile:

• Language: English fluent + Dutch fluent + French fluent

• Minimum 3 years of experience

• Experience in AML operations, compliance or financial crime.

• Strong understanding of KYC, KYT and Due Diligence processes.

• Experience using or building AI assistants, AI agents or GenAI solutions.

• Ability to independently build prototypes and working solutions

• Comfortable working directly with business users.

• Pragmatic and delivery-oriented.

• Curious and hands-on.

• Able to explain AI concepts in simple language.

• Focused on practical results rather than theoretical discussions.

• Comfortable working in an agile and experimental environment
