MES Senior Consultant/Lead

About the role

We are supporting a leading consulting organisation in Belgium that is looking to strengthen its Digital Manufacturing / Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) practice with experienced professionals at Senior Consultant, Lead and Manager level.

This is an opportunity to work with leading organisations across Belgium and internationally, helping clients design, implement and optimise MES solutions within complex manufacturing environments.

You will work across the full MES lifecycle, from understanding manufacturing requirements and designing solutions through to implementation, integration, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.

The role would be particularly suited to professionals with experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals or Medical Devices, although experience from other highly regulated or complex manufacturing environments will also be considered.

Your responsibilities

Depending on seniority, you will:

• Lead or contribute to MES implementation and transformation projects from initial requirements through to go-live.
  
• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, IT and business stakeholders to understand operational requirements.
  
• Analyse manufacturing processes and translate business requirements into effective MES solutions.
  
• Support the design and implementation of MES architectures, workflows and functionalities.
  
• Lead workshops with client stakeholders to define current-state and future-state processes.
  
• Develop functional specifications, process documentation and implementation deliverables.
  
• Configure or oversee configuration of MES solutions where appropriate.
  
• Support system integration between MES, ERP, automation and other manufacturing systems.
  
• Manage testing activities, including system, integration and user acceptance testing.
  
• Support deployment, go-live and post-implementation stabilisation.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes through digitalisation and automation.
  
• Manage project workstreams, timelines, risks and deliverables at Manager/Lead level.
  
• Work with technology vendors and implementation partners.
  
• Support change management, training and user adoption activities.
  
• Coach and develop junior consultants and contribute to the growth of the MES practice.
  
• At Manager level, contribute to client relationship management, proposals and business development.

Experience with one or more MES platforms would be highly relevant, including:

Strong experience with PAS-X would be particularly relevant for candidates working within Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

Experience integrating MES with SAP or other ERP platforms, as well as knowledge of automation, shop-floor systems and manufacturing data, would also be beneficial.

Requirements

What we are looking for

We are looking for professionals with strong MES and manufacturing technology experience, with seniority depending on the level of the role.

Ideally, you will have:

• Several years of experience working with MES solutions within consulting, systems integration or an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  
• Proven experience contributing to or leading end-to-end MES implementations.
  
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations.
  
• Experience gathering business and functional requirements.
  
• Experience translating manufacturing requirements into MES solutions.
  
• Knowledge of MES integration with ERP, automation or other manufacturing systems.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  
• The ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  

For Lead / Manager level, we would additionally expect:

• Experience leading MES workstreams or full implementation projects.
  
• Strong project and stakeholder management experience.
  
• Experience managing and developing consultants or project teams.
  
• Confidence working with senior client stakeholders.
  
• Experience contributing to proposals and business development.
  
• Industry experience
