About Merchery

Merchery was born in 2020 from a simple observation: corporate gifts and promotional products are often low quality, forgettable and made to be thrown away.

Our vision is different: beautiful, useful and carefully sourced products that people actually want.

We work with some of the world's most exciting brands and companies to create merch that feels less like corporate swag and more like something we'd all genuinely want to own.

Now, we're looking for a Creative Content Associate to help us continue building the visual and editorial world around Merchery. This is a role for someone who has an eye, likes making things and knows how to turn an idea into something real.

The role

You'll be part of the Marketing & Content team, working closely with our Content Manager across the full content process, from finding the idea to getting it out into the world.

You'll create content for our social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Tiktok, Youtube), but the role goes well beyond. You might be developing a shoot concept in the morning, helping organise a production in the afternoon, shooting BTS content the next day, and turning the footage into a campaign, Reel or LinkedIn post afterwards.

We're looking for someone who is equally interested in the creative part and the doing part. Someone who notices when something looks good and understands why. Someone who can write a good sentence, frame a good picture, find the right reference, and then actually publish the work.

Responsibilities

• Create visual and editorial content across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Youtube, website, campaigns and other channels.
• Help manage and grow Merchery's social presence: quality over quantity, always.
• Develop ideas and formats that make Merchery feel recognisable, attracting, interesting and human.
• Shoot and edit photography and short-form video, from product stories and lifestyle content to BTS, interviews and social formats.
• Help develop longer-form content, including vlogs, interviews, stories and potentially a Merchery YouTube channel.
• Write copy for social media and other content, with a strong editorial eye and a natural voice. Captions and editorial text that feel human and distinctive. Never like they were written by AI.
• Experiment with different formats, have a look at what is done nowadays BUT don't chase trends for the sake of it.
• Help us make the most of the equipment we already have: smartphone, Sony Alpha, DJI Osmo, audio gear, analogue cameras, …. And be eager to try new kit too.
• Help plan and organise our content calendar and make sure good ideas actually make it out.
• Keep an eye on photography, design, fashion, culture, filmmaking, brands and the wider creative world.

The kind of person we're looking for

• Has a strong visual culture, creative sensitivity and good judgement: you know when something is interesting, beautiful, funny or simply unnecessary
• Is genuinely interested in photography, filmmaking, design, fashion, architecture, brands or culture
• Can write naturally and well, especially short-form, editorial and social copy
• Can shoot and/or edit photo and video independently, and put together a simple design (Canva or similar) when needed
• Understands social platforms and what makes content work, without chasing trends for the sake of it.
• You're a doer: you like to experiment, try things and make them better, and you're always eager to go the extra mile, even if that means carrying boxes, finding a location or fixing something last minute.
• Is organised, reliable and comfortable managing several projects independently
• Likes working with people: colleagues, clients, photographers, creative partners
• You are fluent in English (spoken and written). Any other language is a plus.
• You can work from Brussels, Belgium.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, Canva or similar is a plus, but we care much more about what you make and how you see things than about a list of software.

Working with us

Will be fun. We're still a growing company, which means things move quickly and there's always something happening. We don't have all the answers either. Part of the job is figuring out what Merchery should be creating next.

You'll work with a small, international team and get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to build a growing brand. We regularly organise team activities, offsites and other moments outside of the day-to-day.

Our recruitment process

1. Short introduction call. A first conversation with Simon, our co-founder to get to know each other and explore the role.
2. Leadership interview and case. In-dept conversation with Larissa, Content Manager. And a practical exercise followed by a discussion to test your skills.
3. A final conversation with Annabelle, our HR, to ensure alignment on collaboration and culture.
