Clean Utilities Engineer

As part of our Life Sciences activities, we are looking for a Clean Utilities Engineer to support a major capacity expansion project within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Integrated into the project team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and commissioning of critical utility systems supporting pharmaceutical production activities. You will contribute to strategic investment projects aimed at increasing manufacturing capacity while ensuring compliance with GMP standards and operational requirements. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Validation, Quality and external partners, you will play a key role from the engineering phase through the start-up of new installations.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• Support the development and execution of clean utility projects linked to pharmaceutical production capacity expansion.
• Contribute to all project phases, from conceptual design and detailed engineering to commissioning and operational handover.
• Define and review technical requirements, specifications, P&IDs and engineering deliverables related to clean utility systems.
• Provide technical expertise on systems such as Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), Clean Steam, Process Gases and Clean Compressed Air.
• Coordinate engineering contractors, suppliers and construction teams throughout project execution.
• Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments and design qualification activities.
• Support commissioning, qualification and validation activities for new installations.
• Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, quality standards and operational objectives.
• Identify opportunities for utility optimization, sustainability improvements and operational efficiency.

ABOUT YOU:

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or Life Sciences industry.
• Strong experience with Clean Utilities systems in GMP-regulated environments.
• Good knowledge of Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), Clean Steam, Process Gases and Clean Compressed Air systems.
• Experience supporting CAPEX projects and facility expansion projects.
• Experience participating in engineering, commissioning, qualification and validation activities.
• Strong understanding of GMP requirements and pharmaceutical facility design principles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Fluent English is mandatory, combined with either Dutch or French.
