Lead Document Controller

As part of our Energy and Infrastructural activities, we are looking for a Lead Document Controller to support the continuous improvement and optimization of an existing Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS) within a complex project environment. You will play a key role in strengthening document control processes, information governance and workflow efficiency while ensuring the proper management of engineering, project and construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams, engineering departments and key stakeholders, you will contribute to improving information management practices and driving the adoption of harmonized document control standards across the organization.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• Lead the optimization and continuous improvement of the existing EDMS and associated document control processes.
• Review, streamline and standardize document governance procedures, workflows and approval cycles.
• Identify gaps and opportunities to improve information management efficiency, traceability and compliance.
• Maintain and improve document numbering, metadata structures, revision control and document lifecycle management practices.
• Ensure proper management of engineering, construction and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate document exchanges between internal teams, engineering partners, suppliers and contractors.
• Support users in adopting new document control practices and improved EDMS workflows.
• Develop reporting and KPIs related to document management performance and compliance.
• Contribute to process harmonization and governance initiatives across project teams.
• Support audits and ensure document traceability and compliance requirements are met.

ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Document Control, Information Management or Project Documentation within industrial or engineering environments.
• Demonstrated experience implementing, improving or managing an EDMS.
• Strong understanding of document governance, revision control, metadata management and workflow processes.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering, construction or capital projects.
• Familiarity with document management platforms such as Aconex, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360, Procore or equivalent systems.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and driving process compliance.
• Previous experience in a Lead Document Controller position is considered a strong asset.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory.
