Hauptaufgaben

As an Automotive Mechanic Supervisor, you will serve as the Shop Operations Supervisor of the Maintenance Division and as such plan, coordinate and direct the operations of the division for a wide variety of non-tactical and tactical vehicles and equipment.

You will perform the following duties:

1. Planning:
• Direct the maintenance program through the production control section. Assign and explain work requirements, methods, and procedures through production control, providing specialized instruction on complex operations.
• Plan and schedule work assignments on a long-range basis within higher management's established schedules and priorities.
• Analyze work schedules and determines resources (manpower, materials, and methods), taking into account trade occupations, equipment availability, and deadlines.
• Provide upward advice and information regarding scheduling capabilities, production techniques, machinery arrangement, and required operational changes.

2. Work Direction:
• Advise senior leadership on operational developments and progress.
• Delegate to subordinate supervisors by explaining work requirements, setting deadlines, and establishing the sequence of operations.
• Analyze performance and cost records (production, expenses, and staff utilization) to evaluate progress and reduce operating costs.
• Troubleshoot recurring problems, implement/recommend necessary corrective actions and develop standards and instructions.

3. Administration:
• Manage leave requests and establish shift and work schedules to meet mission coverage needs.
• Control and evaluate work, ensuring completed tasks are adequate and accurate. Evaluate employees' performance and assist in preparation of the annual appraisals

Qualifikationsanforderungen

1.EXPERIENCE

Applicant must demonstrate at least one year of experience in a closely related field as the position to be filled. To be creditable, experience must have been gained at a level that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade.

2. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION

Applicants must have a Master degree (or equivalent) in a related field.

Foreign education must be officially evaluated for Belgian equivalency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to use test equipment to perform operational tests and to check engine performance, prescribed tolerances and safety factors.
• Ability to research maintenance technical orders written in English to resolve maintenance issues and make necessary repairs.
• Ability to evaluate reparability, repair costs, and classification of automotive equipment as well as parts.
• Ability to create reliable cost estimates.

• ORGANIZATION AND PLACE OF DUTY

US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logistical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.

• DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

- Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week with compensation of one day per month).
- Regular work schedule (Monday through Friday).
- Salary from 4,493.09 EUR gross/month at BA 08

The incumbent must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds
