Senior Business Actuary – Life Insurance
Within the ‘Insurance’ division, whose mission is to ensure the profitability, development and sale of our products and services and to manage our life insurance portfolio, the ‘Business Change & Monitoring’ Department directs and steers the Life Insurance business on the basis of quantified analyses, technically supports the business by carrying out the necessary technical and actuarial studies, and analyses business projects with an IT impact.

Responsibilities
- Managing the profitability of the life insurance portfolio and optimising results at the business level.
- Managing our product profitability :
Analysing and steering profitability growth across the portfolio.
Developing absent profitability models in cooperation with the finance teams and the Group.Proposing business actions that improve profitability, reinsurance impact and results plus related follow up.Managing reinsurance :Defining forecasts and budgets linked to reinsurance products.
Monitoring and analysing performance of the portfolio linked to these reinsurance structures.Managing reinsurance renewals.Contributing to and challenging various results optimisation structures, especially in connection with reinsurance.Business management of the financial closures cycle :Managing business closures within the team.
Producing reports on closures linked to reinsurance.Helping stabilise information needed for closure, such as :Managing and checking reserves to be set aside and the various calculations to meet commitments.
Providing technical support for managers through actuarial calculations, etc.Acting as business technical referent :Understanding and interpreting the company’s results at Belgian GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II level :
Controlling the impact of business dimensions (Belgian GAAP in particular).
Serving as link with the teams that produce the Belgian GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II results.Proposing business actions to improve these results.Putting into place and maintaining necessary models for the team's activities as a whole (budgets, projections, reinsurance, provisions, etc.) and identifying and implementing necessary optimisations.Providing support in defining budgets and goals and for technical analyses relating to portfolio development.Profile
You have a master’s degree, preferably in mathematics, actuarial sciences or economics.You have initial experience in a similar position in the life insurance sector; reinsurance is a plus.You have excellent knowledge of French or Dutch with a good command of the other national language and can work in English.You have Excel (VBA) at your fingertips and are comfortable working with Powerpoint.You have a command of at least one database query language (SAS, SQL); knowledge of Power BI or PowerQuery is an advantage.You have an analytical mind and the necessary abstraction ability to understand results / figures and formulate recommendations.You are able to present your analyses simply, effectively and clearly to all interested parties, including Senior Management.You can work under pressure and respect tight deadlines.You are autonomous and can take the initiative.You have a team spirit.Benefits
