NextLink is having an existing position as a Service coordinator Functional Designer PBCS in Brussels area Belgium.

The Information Systems (IS) People Brand and Corporate Services team which is responsible for

building and maintaining IT applications for the HR and Facility departments is looking for a service coordinator - functional designer with focus on end-to-end approach and good communication skills adapted to the different stakeholders of the project.

The candidate will work within the IT organisation on various medium / large her/his role he/she will discuss requirements for setting up robust IT applications for crucial data-oriented processes set-up priorities coordinates IT functional analyses development and ensure robust IT design and processes.

The solution will cover domains such as data in- & output data extraction storage & traceability user interface reporting etc. The candidate will organize & coordinate the work of the project and participate in the set-up of the run.

Proven experience with user requirements gathering and functional analysis in an IT environment is a must.

Main objectives:

Ensure good communication and collaboration within the team and toward Business

Ensure quality of functional and technical design of the solution components (initially coached

by more senior team members) ;

Set-up objectives and priorities in collaboration with business and team

Achieve goals within the committed constraints

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation ;

Help build positive team spirit.

Additional objectives:

Follow-up of Acceptance Testing ;

Ensure regular progress reporting to the Management.

Profile:

Language: English fluent Dutch fluent OR French fluent

University Graduate or Professional bachelor Ideally University graduate Master in information Science Management or Industrial Engineer.

IT solution design on middle scale projects

Understanding development life cycles

Informing the concerned parties in a structured and efficient way about the progress of the projects

Functional requirements for IT

Describing the test scenarios and organize the test execution in collaboration with the tester/test coordinator.

Document new/adapted processes and functionalities

Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel at least)

Basic knowledge in Data querying (SQL)

Required Skills:

57 years of professional software engineering experience (medior to senior level preferred). Strong Python programming skills with solid understanding of software engineering principles design patterns and best practices. Strong technical analysis architecture and design skills. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code GitHub Copilot Cursor or similar AI coding assistants. Experience designing AI agents developer tooling plugins prompt engineering or AI-enabled software development workflows is highly desirable. Experience building scalable software for cloud environments. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Passion for delivering high-quality software and reliable releases. Ability to balance tactical delivery with long-term architectural vision. Strong ownership mindset and decision-making ability. Experience mentoring and collaborating across multiple engineering teams.
